i would use a dictation only mode when stuck in traffic ive tried it with iphone in pocket and started session from the carpark, the problem is i cant use hey siri to control it or end the session! and it then runs till i finish my journey!! i am responsible and dont touch my phone whilst driving. theres always something to dictate on the way hone or to hospital unfortunately

This is really helpful context around a dictation-only / CarPlay-style workflow (especially being able to start/stop via “Hey Siri” so a session doesn’t run on). I’m looping this to the team to review, and if you’re open to it, could you share which iPhone model/iOS version you’re on and whether you’re using CarPlay or just Bluetooth/phone-in-pocket when this happens?

Heidi Team v quick for a sunday!! im using iphone 16pro, with ios26.3.1 i use wireless carplay with a 2025 audiq5 (not sure what carplay version that is ,new model last year) i havent tried bluetooth so im guessing its just audio into the handpiece either in my pocket or on the seat next to me ,? are you suggesting i can link my phone via the car audio and use the car microphone as a input to heid on my phone ??
