ability to test the microphone level in the app
Heidi Team
Thanks for raising this, Etienne Thomas — totally makes sense to want a quick way to sanity-check your mic right in the app. To make sure we’re designing the right kind of “mic level test,” can I ask a couple quick questions: is your main goal to confirm the correct mic is selected/working before a session, to verify the input level is strong enough during a session, or to troubleshoot after you’ve had poor audio/transcription? And on Desktop, when would you expect to use this most — before starting a visit, during the visit, or as part of a settings/setup flow? Lastly, what’s the specific issue you’re running into today that this would solve (e.g., patients can’t hear you, the app isn’t picking up audio, transcription quality is off, or the wrong microphone is being used)?

In the windows app it shows the right microphone and then starts the transcription. At the end you find that no sound was recorded. This is not a problem with online versions or even the Mac version. The Heidi app is not listed on the microphone authorizations list. With the above youcan see if the mic is recording
