I do not always know if there is a problem with recording until after the session

Here’s a clearer and more professional version:

The user is asking if there is an indicator or notification when the microphone is not detecting any voices.

An audible sound would make sense. Our goal is to jot have to look at the computer screen bur be more engaged with the patient.

Thanks for sharing this — totally makes sense to want a clear heads-up if the mic isn’t picking up any voice.
Just to clarify what you’re looking for:
1) Would you want a visual indicator (e.g., “No audio detected”) or an audible/notification-style alert?
2) Should it trigger after a certain amount of silence (e.g., 5s / 15s / 30s)?
3) Is the main scenario “mic disconnected/blocked” vs “room is quiet but session is running”?
Also worth noting: Heidi already shows live audio indicators (volume status) and a real-time transcription feed, which can help spot when nothing’s being captured — but we can definitely share your request for a more explicit warning with the team.

I often record long sessions via the mobile app and often the recording will have stopped half way into my session without me knowing. The screen is still on and there is no indication it has stopped recording but when I open the transcript, I find it stops half way into my session. Previously I have been able to occasionally fix this by resuming then stopping the session, but this no longer works. A noticeable flashing screen, tone, or message would be very helpful to avoid frustration with truncated sessions.

Build in an alert when sound is not detected

Build in a feature where Heidi alerts the user (by creating a pop-up message & playing a sound) if it can't detect sound/the microphone. This would prevent clinicians from getting to the end of the session and not having a transcript available. Sometimes microphone settings change without the user being aware that this has happened. A feature like this would mitigate that problem.
