Clean Plain Text Copy for Email Outputs

Hi Heidi team,
I frequently use Heidi to generate client emails and have noticed two issues when copying the output into Gmail.
First, when copying and pasting directly from the Heidi output window, a slight background highlight/shading appears in the pasted text in Gmail.
Second, when using the dedicated copy button in the Heidi interface, the pasted text retains markdown formatting characters, particularly asterisks used for bold headings. For example, a heading like Availability pastes as: 'asterisks asterisks Availability asterisks asterisks' (had to type asterisks otherwise it just bolds the title) into Gmail, which looks unprofessional in client-facing correspondence.
It would be great if the copy function could strip markdown syntax and paste as clean plain text, or alternatively render the formatting correctly for email clients. This would make Heidi considerably more useful for generating professional correspondence in real-world workflows.
Thanks for considering this.

Heidi Team
Thanks for the detailed write-up — super helpful, Andrew Smith.
Totally get how background shading and stray markdown (like around headings) would look unprofessional when pasting into Gmail, especially if you’re doing this multiple times a day.
A couple quick questions so we can pass the right specifics to the team:
1) Does this happen in Gmail only, or also in other editors (e.g., Outlook, Google Docs)?
2) Which browser are you using on desktop (Chrome/Safari/Edge/Firefox)?
3) If you can share a screenshot of the pasted result in Gmail (showing the shading + the asterisks), that’d be amazing.
We’ll share this feedback with the product team — a “copy as clean plain text” option (or properly rendered rich text for email) makes a lot of sense for this workflow.

Heidi Team Hi,
Thanks for getting back to me.
To answer your questions:
Browser I am using Chrome on desktop.
Email Editors I primarily use Gmail, so I cannot confirm whether the same issue occurs in other editors.
Screenshot I have uploaded both screenshots. The asterisks occur when using the inbuilt copy function, and the pink background occurs when manually highlighting and copying the text.
