Differentiate between NEW and FOLLOW-UP visits

Would like to mark if a particular visit is for a new patient or a followup patient, so Heidi knows whether to mention certain things or not. For example, for followups, PMH does not have to be repeated in every visit because it already "lives" in the EMR. Sometimes this is obvious (patient that Heidi has seen me see before), sometime's it's not (patient I haven't seen in a couple years).
As a plus, if Heidi could have a 2-way integration with eClinicalWorks (my EMR) so that it could see what's already in "History" and only put in NEW information, so there are no duplicates, that would be

- How do you currently differentiate between new and follow-up visits in your workflow?
- What specific information from eClinicalWorks would you like Heidi to access for new and follow-up visits?
- Are there any specific scenarios where differentiating between new and follow-up visits is particularly challenging?

- i manually go in and delete things that will be duplicates before pasting heidi's output into my emr
- Heidi should access all the "History" sections: PMH, Surgeries, Family History, Social History, and Allergies. Only update what's new or different.
