For one day my Heidi remote was paired to my iPhone such that I could create a session, add context and then attend the patient bedside. At that moment i would press the record button on the iPhone app and the visit would be captured on the Heidi remote. This feature is no longer available as pressing the app button now selects that iPhone microphone as default.

Being able to use the Heidi remote mic from the Heidi app on an iPhone with sessions preloaded with patient ID context past med history and meds...ie the Heidi remote becomes the default microphone instead of the iPhone internal mic. ( I actually had this working yesterday for most of my encounters and now the feature seems disabled )
I had this feature working for a day ( yesterday ) on my Heidi remote and now it defaults to iPhone mic instead when hit the record button on the phone with the Heidi app open. Defaulting to the built in iPhone microphone is far less reliable as it requires the phone to be out or bluetoothed to a second mic and the phone doesn't have the store conversation on the Heidi remote which is very helpful so there are no dropped conversations. I don't know what has changed ( perhaps a firmware update ) but the remote is far less useful if it can only capture new conversation with out context etc preloaded....I will likely go back to my dual dji system as I see no advantage of the Heidi remote and it actually slows done my workflow.

Hi Nick,
Danny here from Heidi Remote team.
Thanks for taking the time to explain your workflow.
Based on what you’ve described, the behaviour you saw yesterday is actually the intended experience. When the Heidi Remote is connected to your iPhone via Bluetooth, starting a session from the Heidi app should use the Heidi Remote as the recording device rather than the iPhone’s built-in microphone.
We haven’t made any recent changes to this behaviour, so one thing worth checking is whether the Heidi Remote was still connected via Bluetooth when the session was started. If the Remote wasn’t connected at that moment, the app would fall back to the iPhone microphone.
If the Remote was connected and the app still selected the iPhone microphone instead, that’s not expected behaviour and we’d definitely like to investigate further.
Our engineering team has already reached out to you via Intercom and is actively looking into your case. We’ll work with you to understand what’s happening and get this resolved as quickly as possible.
Also it’s worth mentioning that we’re gonna have a feature called session merge to automatically merge the session for you. So you don’t have to manually start the session on mobile app and you can just keep going on Remote. I’ll add you to the beta testing group if you’re keen.
Thanks again for the detailed feedback and appreciate your support.
