Gestational age and BMI calculators

I have tried to ask my template to do some calculations that are important for Obstetrics. In particular, I dictate the EDD, and based on this, I would like the gestational age at the time of dictation to be included. I have tried to do this in my consultation template, but the gestational age is almost always incorrect. Furthermore, can I ask the template to automatically calculate BMI when I provide the height and weight? Thanks.

Hey CHRISTINA Nowik, thanks for flagging this — super helpful. Gestational age off the EDD (and BMI from height/weight) makes total sense for OB workflows. We’ll take a look on our side, but quick check: are you dictating the EDD as a date (e.g. “EDD 12 March 2026”) and do you want GA calculated as of the visit date/time of dictation? If you can share an example of the exact phrasing you use (and what GA it outputs vs what you expect), that’ll help us reproduce it faster. We’ll dig in and follow up soon.

Tom Yes. For instance, yesterday (on February 25, 2026), when I dictated "EDD is July 13, 2026," I had tried to instruct my consultation note to read something like "The patient is ___ weeks today" (as in the GA on the date of dictation, Feb 25. The gestational age inserted is most often incorrect.

I would like a BMI and BSA calculator too (also creatinine clearance). I tired putting the formula in the template but it always seems to come out slightly off.

While we have not included calculators into the template itself, we do offer the ability to make medical calculations using the new Heidi Evidence feature.
