It would be great to use the remote to pre-chart on patients before they are seen in clinic or in the hospital. It would be functioning as a microphone that with assistant/AI features, because it would categorize the context for each patient that is designated by speech commands. Another future software update could include stating an appointment time or patient name to indicate to the AI which patient is being spoken about. Here is an example of what one might do:
[Patient scheduled at 8:30 in clinic]
8:15: Provider reviewing patient's chart.
--> provider toggles dictation with heidi remote; This could be a button command (double or triple tap) or a verbal command ("prechart" or "context")
--> provider dictates "this a 70 year old female with a past medical history of CHF, COPD, type 2 diabetes on insulin, and breast cancer. Today she is being seen for an Annual wellness visit. She is due for a DEXA scan, mammogram and discussion regarding a colonoscopy. She also needs advanced care directive discussion and DPOA designation."
--> At this point heidi remote is either toggled off or left on ambiently if not picking up other conversation.
8:30: Patient getting roomed
8:40: patient is roomed and RN presents patient to provider
--> Provider toggles remote to begin listening to nurse report
--> "they are concerned about a rash on their elbow that has been there for 2 weeks. They tried applying vaseline to the rash a few times without relief. They also tried hydrocortisone cream a few times without relief. They also need a refill on their losartan."
8:42: provider enters room and begins encounter
--> using heidi remote as it is currently designed
