Hey Heidi - any updates?
Heidi Team
Thanks for the suggestion, Guru O — adding an Oral Medicine Specialist specialty makes a lot of sense.
I’ll share this with the team. To help us get it right, could you tell us:
1) What note/document types you’d want tailored for Oral Medicine (e.g., consult notes, biopsy/pathology requests, referral letters)?
2) Any common terms/abbreviations or sections you’d expect by default (e.g., lesion description, oral cancer risk factors, salivary gland assessment)?
3) If you have an example template you currently use (de-identified), could you paste it or share a screenshot?
That extra detail helps us shape the specialty setup so it matches your workflow across browser/desktop/mobile.

Hey Heidi
Do you need all that information just to create a new specialty?
My main reason is so I can sign off as an oral medicine specialist at the end. Currently i'm signing off as an oral pathologist....
- I use new consults, reviews, referrals and letters. I use the full spectrum that's available to me, and I've made my own custom templates.
- Nope
- I've already made my templates. However, it will be different for each oral medicine specialist and their area of interest. The specialist can customise their template by uploading what they would like. But, largely, it will be similar to dermatology (but in the mouth and lips) and also a pain medicine specialist but for the oral, jaw, and facial region.
I see there have been other oral meds who have requested this as well in the forum: Phillipa Greer, Simon Guan, Supeetha Suntharmoorthy
