Splitting a transcript into separate sets of notes, or selecting parts of the transcript to exclude from the notes.

If you forget to stop/restart the transcription between patients and end up with a 40 minute transcript for 2 different patients, it would be helpful to be able to place a marker in the transcript in order to split them into separate sets of notes. This might also be helpful/save time for consultations where an owner brings 2 or more pets in and it all gets lumped into the same recording. Situations sometimes also occur where an unrelated phone call (regarding a different patient) is mistakenly incorporated into the previous consult's notes because the transcript wasn't stopped.
These are all avoidable situations, but they definitely happen regularly enough that it would justify a feature to "exclude everything after this point in the transcript" or "split into 2+ sets of notes at this/these points".

Hey Josh Lynch, thanks for your feedback! I have a few more questions for you:
- How often do you encounter situations where you need to split or exclude parts of the transcript?
- What specific markers or indicators would you find most useful for splitting or excluding transcript sections?
- Are there any specific scenarios or examples where this feature would have been particularly beneficial?

Hi Tom. It usually happens when I'm super busy and just forget to stop/restart the transcript between consults. Then I'm stuck with a frankenstein set of notes incorporating information from both consults. It'd be nice if I could open up the transcript, click at a time-point between the two consults to separate them, then produce a separate set of clinical notes for each entry either side of the point.
As I mentioned, this also occurs sometimes if I have to take a phone call after a consult and I don't stop the recording prior. It just muddies up the notes with whatever I'd been talking about on the phone call. Would be good to "exclude everything after THIS point" so I don't have to manually pull out any incorrect info from the notes.
It might be a beneficial feature to be able to do 2 animals from the same owner in one recording (so we're not stuffing around with the computer in the middle), then just pick a point between the two animals in the transcript and generate separate notes for each patient. Just a small addition that might save some time in the long run.
