Being able to do this automatically would be great, but in the meantime, I have already been using Heidi to do this. We would often have new patients joining our GP practice, and their notes are transferred as a pdf. I upload them as context to a new Heidi session, and click create, telling Heidi to summarise the patients medical history chronologically, including a list of diagnoses with dates, relevant investigations and results, and specialists seen. I can then tweak the output if needed with the ask Heidi box eg include verbatim transcripts of radiology results/give details of histology from procedure of X date/include most recent list of medications. Brilliant for a quick overview of someone new. I have also used it if i need to trawl through ancient archive files on elderly patients if i need to find out eg when X condition was first diagnosed. Upload the file to context, ask Heidi for complete history of X diagnosis. I double check everything but far less time consuming than page by page manual review.

Gibt es eine Möglichkeit, Dokumente hoch zu laden, die Heidi dann analysiert und mit die Dokumentation implementiert?

PDF Medical Record Upload and Summarization Capability for HEID
U
Uri Ben-Zur MD
We are currently using your AI note-taking system, HEIDI, and would like to explore the possibility of expanding its functionality to better serve our clinical needs.
Specifically, we are requesting a feature that would allow us to:
Upload PDF medical records – These may consist of several hundred pages and include diverse content such as prior hospital records, laboratory results, imaging reports, physician notes, and nursing charts.
Extract text and images – The system should be able to process both textual data (progress notes, labs, discharge summaries) and images/graphics (such as EKG strips or imaging figures) from the PDF.
Generate structured summaries and interpretations – After processing the file, HEIDI should provide:
A concise, clinically relevant summary of the contents.
Categorization by type (labs, imaging, hospital course, physician notes, etc.).
Interpretations and insights where feasible (e.g., flagging abnormal values, identifying trends, highlighting critical findings).
Our goal is to have HEIDI seamlessly integrate these external PDF records into the patient’s note stream, providing us with both the raw extracted content and a usable, clinically focused summary.
Could you let us know whether this functionality is feasible within the HEIDI framework, and if so, what the development timeline, requirements, and limitations might be?
Thank you for considering this request. We believe this feature would significantly enhance the clinical utility of HEIDI for practices like ours.
