SECOND PERSON OPTION referring to patient in letters. Third is a bit impersonal.

The transcribe in our case DEFAULTS TO REFER TO "the patient" in the THIRD PERSON ... however it is quite impersonal and jars with our private service and doctor-patient rapport in letter...
CAN I SUGGEST please ... option for transcription to default to using SECOND PERSON aka "YOU" to refer to the patient in the letter. its more personal and less formal and me and many colleagues in UK prefer this (and I see it a lot in letters back from my consultant colleagues"
