Give Heidi "rules" for documentation
A
Alycia Straeter
I see the Memory tab of Heidi but unless I am misunderstanding how it's used, it won't quite work as I'm requesting here. I have consistent requests for how I would like individuals to be referred to, how I hope for the note to be formatted, etc., and despite having these instructions explicitly stated in my Heidi note template, it will routinely go against those instructions at random times, then I need to prompt Heidi to rewrite it. For example, I do not want names used and have tried various ways to indicate that in the template, but at times it will still use them.
For now, I have just gone about regularly "correcting" Heidi, rating the generations, etc. but it would be wonderful if we could give general rules to follow.
It may be a long shot as even with the advanced ChatGPT and its newer "memory" function, it still fails on very basic instructions, but in case Heidi AI is different than ChatGPT in ways that would make it work, I wanted to submit this request. Thanks!

Customisable Language & Communication Style Preferences (Trauma-Informed, Disability-Affirming, etc)

Hi Heidi Team!
I’d love to suggest a feature that allows users to set preferred communication styles or language frameworks that better reflect their professional tone, values, or therapeutic approach. For example, as a clinician, I often use trauma-informed, neurodivergent-affirming, gender-affirming language when communicating with clients or writing care team notes. Having the option to set a tone or framework preference (similar to how users can currently choose 'formal', 'casual', or 'concise') would ensure responses align more closely with the values and sensitivities of different fields and communities.
This might include options such as:
- Trauma-informed & compassionate
- Neurodivergent-affirming
- Disability-affirming
- Somatic & parts-based work (IFS)
- Culturally sensitive
- Gender-affirming & inclusive
These preferences could help reduce harm, uphold best-practice communication standards, and increase relevance across diverse sectors — especially health, education, and social care.
Thank you for considering this!

prohibited usage of names

Heidi repeatedly making errors with doctor's names. I have tried several different ways of preventing the system from including names, which are usually incorrect, in reports but rather referred to them by their specialty.

Good idea, as long as the guidelines are LOCAL to the user or team that upload them. I don’t want Heidi butting in with suggestions that are not relevant to my practice.

We're absolutely working on this, and it's actually a project I'm very excited about. We plan to traffic in some very neat tech. If you have a moment to spare Jacob Donovan, I'd love to chat to you about what you'd like here. I'd love to hear from you via email (mo@heidihealth.com)
