Currently, there is a lot of initial, and ongoing "tinkering" required to become a proficient user. Rather than the user needing to make their own specific templates, there could be a more interactive way for Heidi to get to know the users style, with the end goal of Heidi automatically detecting the type of encounter, selecting a note type based on the encounter, and formatting the notes based on user preference. I envision a tool called "Learn My Style" or "Let Heidi Help", where Heidi has a conversation with the user to build a "master template" behind the scenes. This conversation would be similar to a conversation with a new, human transcriptionist, to explain how you want the notes done. Heidi could save answers to questions like "What kind of encounters do you typically have?", "Do you want the patient's medication list included in every note?", "Do you want the physical exam documented in bullet points, or some other format?", and so forth. After the initial conversation, like a human transcriptionist, Heidi could solicit feedback via pop-up message after a few dictations. Or there could be an occasional pop-up 5-star rating system with some specific questions (eg "Do you like the style of the history section?", "Was there enough detail in the treatment plan?", "How can I make this note better to suit your needs?"). I think some new users find the onboarding, and template-making process to be intimidating, and very time consuming, and thus a barrier to getting started at all. This sort of tool might help solve that, and attract new users.
