Subject: Feature Gap — Patient-Uploaded Documents Not Accessible to Heidi Evidence for Pre-Visit Review Description: Workflow context: My staff uploads patient documents (e.g., referral letters, correspondence PDFs) to patient profiles prior to visits, via the "Use patient documents as context" dialog in the Scribe session interface. The intended clinical use case is pre-visit preparation: I open Evidence in the sidebar before or during a session and expect to be able to ask Evidence to review, summarize, or discuss those uploaded documents. Observed behavior: When I attempt to retrieve patient context via Evidence (either through the patient profile retrieval tool or via session context), the uploaded document content is not surfaced. The patient profile tool returns demographic data and session history only — it does not return the text content of uploaded PDFs. Evidence confirms it has no access to the document content. Expected behavior: Document content uploaded to a patient profile and selected as session context should be accessible to Evidence for pre-visit briefing, summarization, and clinical discussion — not only for injection into Scribe note generation. Additional context: The clinician does not have independent access to these documents outside of the upload workflow Staff upload is the intended intake pathway; the clinician relies on Evidence to surface and interpret this content This was confirmed via direct interaction with Evidence, which acknowledged the architectural gap Request: Please either (1) surface uploaded document text through the patient profile retrieval API so Evidence can access it, or (2) pass selected document content into the Evidence session context at session initiation — mirroring the Scribe injection behavior.
